Our Privacy Commitment to You:

Village Bank recognizes the privacy of your personal financial information. We are committed to the security of your personal information and believe your privacy should not be compromised. The information obtained by Village Bank is used to provide our customers with the services they have requested, to offer them other services and products, and to make them aware of financial products available by our selected marketing partners. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers, or former customers, to anyone, except as permitted by law.

Our Commitment to the confidentiality, security and integrity of your personal information:

We restrict the access to nonpublic information about you to those Village Bank associates who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. Village Bank maintains strict internal policies against unauthorized disclosure or use of customers information. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic information.

Nonpublic Personal Information We Disclose:

We may disclose the following kinds of nonpublic personal information about you:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage;
  • Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency, such as your credit worthiness and credit history.

Parties to Whom We Disclose Nonpublic Personal Information:

We disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following types of third parties:

  • Joing Marketing Partners (JMP)—Village Bank carefully selects JMPs to provide our customers with financial services. The JMPs with whom we have a joint-marketing agreement, work closely with us to help meet your financial needs. The categories of information we disclose may include information that we collect, as referenced above. JMPs are contractually required to adhere to our strict security standards and are not allowed to use our customer information for any purpose other than the intended service; and

  • Service Providers—We enter into arrangements with companies that provide support for us such as imprinting checks, marketing assistance, data processing services, and any other services necessary to administer your requests. As permitted by law, we disclose to these service providers the customer information necessary to perform these functions. As with all our business arrangements, these companies are required to safeguard your information and use it only for authorized purposes; and
  • Consumer Reporting Agencies—In accordance with standard banking industry practices, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we share customer information with credit reporting agencies; and
  • Courts and Government Entities—Certain nonpublic information is required by or allowed by law, such as in response to a subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, request by a regulator, or independent auditor. In those circumstances, only the specific information required by law, subpoena, or court order will be disclosed. If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will follow the privacy policies ad practices as decribed in this notice.

We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law.

Fair Credit Reporting Act Information Sharing Opt Out:

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we have a right to share information regarding our transactions or experiences with you. Unless you instruct otherwise, we also have the right to share any other information about you with our affiliates (persons related by common ownership or affiliated by corporate control, now or in the future) either directly or indirectly. This other information may include, but is not limited to, application information, credit reports from a consumer reporting agency, and any other information we have about you. If you do not want us to share this other information with our afilliates, you may utilize the opt out methods set forth below.
