Richmond BizSense: Marketing agencies make West End moves – 10.29.19 – Initiate-It, a 12-person firm led by Andrew Smith, is preparing to move from In Your Ear Studios in Shockoe Bottom to a former doctor’s office building at 6724 Patterson Ave. This relocation was funded by Village Bank.

Richmond BizSense: Scott’s Addition auto shop gets fresh coat and new owners – 10.2.19 – Industrial buildings in Scott’s Addition have become coveted sites for redevelopment, but the new owners of a property on Belleville Street are bucking the trend. They funded the entire project with a business loan from Village Bank.

Richmond BizSense: Grateful Dead-inspired brewery under construction in Powhatan – 8.15.19 – Jason Miller and Tim Torrez are working to open Crazy Rooster Brewing Co. at 1560 Oakbridge Drive in Powhatan. Village Bank financed this project with a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan.

Richmond BizSense: Indoor go-kart track moving outdoors to Richmond Raceway – 3.15.19 – G-Force Karts Richmond is preparing to relocate its operations to the Richmond Raceway Complex with plans to construct a new higher-speed outdoor go-kart track on the site. Village Bank financed this growth and relocation project.

Daily Press: Peninsula localities form regional authority for economic development – 3.15.19 – Village Bank Vice President, Peninsula Market President, and Williamsburg EDA member, Bill Carr is one of 14 members on the Eastern Virginia Regional Industrial Facility Authority board.

Richmond Times-Dispatch: Startup Spotlight: Inspired by her son, Carousel Skin founder makes soaps for ‘fun time’ bath time – 3.14.19 – Crenshaw has turned her soap-making hobby into a budding business, Carousel Skin LLC. She makes and sells soaps that look like all kinds of toys, from building blocks to doll babies to teddy bears and video game controllers. Financing by Village Bank.

Richmond BizSense: Jamaica House moving out of VCU-owned building, buys new home up the street – 1.25.19 – Jamaica House is relocating its restaurant at 1215 W. Broad St. to 416 W. Broad St. after purchasing the two-story building Feb. 15 for $515,000. Financing for this project provided by Village Bank.

Richmond Times-Dispatch: Above the Bar gymnastics building new facility – 12.2.18 – Henrico County-based Above the Bar Gymnastics Academy is building a new 17,769-square-foot gymnastics facility at 9701 Atlee Commons Drive in Hanover County. Village Bank is helping finance the project.

Richmond BizSense: Construction equipment rental company to anchor Manchester redevelopment – 10.4.18 – Rental Works, currently located at 6520 W. Broad St., will transfer its operations to a 184,000-square-foot building at 1500 Commerce Road. Village Bank is helping finance the project.

Richmond Times-Dispatch: Rental Works growing, moving headquarters to Commerce Road in Richmond – 10.3.18 – The housing and economic boom has been good for Henrico County-based equipment rental firm Rental Works, which is expanding to accommodate contractor demand for equipment. Village Bank is a financial partner on this business expansion project.

Richmond BizSense: Rowhouse rehab taking shape along O Street – 7.26.18 – Village Bank provided upwards of $2.14 million in financing, which was handled by Ted Balsamo and Max Morehead of the bank’s commercial banking division.

Richmond BizSense: Modern-style rowhomes wrapping up in Museum District – 4.30.18 – The modernization of a Museum District street corner is nearly complete. Financing for this project was provided by Village Bank with Business Banker Jeff Raihall constructing the deal.

Richmond BizSense: Research firm owner launches Midlothian bakery franchise – 3.15.18 – With the help of Village Bank’s Cindy Hodges and Tom Kelley, Great Harvest Bread Co. Bakery and Café is now open. Cindy, Tom, and franchisee Kim Burcham worked together on the SBA financing to secure the franchise and renovate the space in the Midlothian Station shopping center.

Richmond BizSense: Small brewer doubles taproom space, expands statewide – 3.9.18 – Village Bank business banker Cindy Hodges worked closely with owner and head brewer Karl Homburg to make Castleburg Brewery’s ambitious expansion project become a reality.

Richmond BizSense: Redevelopment resumes at stalled Church Hill site – 11.21.17 – After a falling-out with their original developer, the Whitworths have assembled a new team that includes locally based UrbanCore Construction and Architecture AF, as well as Midlothian-based Village Bank, which is providing financing for the project.

Williamsburg Yorktown Daily: Bill Carr, broad resource for community – 11.25.17 – Bill Carr strives to help others, whether it is through providing financial loans as a banker or helping businesses grow as a member of the Williamsburg Economic Development Authority.

Richmond BizSense: Rowhome project planned in Museum District – 2.28.17 – A cluster of new rowhouses planned just south of Scott’s Addition is about to start going vertical. The Meridian, an eight-unit development at North Thompson Street and Cutshaw Avenue, is set to rise in March, said developer Carter Snipes, principal broker of Richmond-based Snipes Properties.

Richmond BizSense: Manchester Pie Factory building sold to N.Y. investor – 12.21.16 – An out-of-town buyer has snatched up a slice of the Southside. The Manchester Pie Factory building at 612 Hull St. has been acquired by New York-based MJP Acquisitions for $2.15 million, confirmed seller Jeremy Connell, who redeveloped the building into mixed-use six years ago.
